They have a large barn on their property which they renovated this summer. What a fabulous space to work! Wendy now has her own a dye room and wool room. If you did not know we do all our dyeing in house. Wendy does all the wool and velvets for the website and kits with a little help from my kids Aimee and Jason.
In the other sections of the barn is a pottery room and encaustics room for my dad a huge space for jewelry and print making for Wendy and a metal shop for Pete.
Wendy has a large amount of one off pieces of wool from testing wool colors. Pete and her have been working through this huge table of wool making similar size stacks. Wouldn't these make unique scrap bags for applique!
I can't believe how wonderful this work space is now. The whole family including my kids love to come out here to create. They are always joined by their four legged friends Shumba, Morgan and Boekie.
Take care
Sue

Sue, No wonder you have such great wool, isn't it nice to know Wendy and family can work from home with that creative space and produce wonderful wool and jewlry. I vote for you to sell scrap bags from that pile on your website.
ReplyDeleteWe too have had the that winter storm for two weeks, makes for some nail biting driving, but also makes for some spectacular pictures.
How wonderful to all have the space to work in a beautiful way.
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to purchase a scrap bag like that, not so easy to get the wools here.
Merry Christmas and the next time you are in Australia I am going to come to one of your classes.

ReplyDeleteOkay - I remember the day when there were just a couple of comments on this blog. It's no secret anymore. And I can see where you've come from, too - which makes me feel a little bit better for being dull as I am - you've got a whole family of people who breathe ideas and processes. A sort of spiritual and creative primordial soup. That work space. Oy.
