My folk-art imagery reflects my multi-cultural background and my fascination with folkart from around the world. Inspiration comes from memories collected during my African childhood with its animals and grasslands, a sojourn in the green South of England and time spent in Connecticut, Tennessee, Utah and Ohio.

Hot off the Press - New Needle Point Designs
I am so excited Patty Bommarito from www.PattyPaints.net has just introduced the first eight of my designs in a series of hand painted needlepoint canvases.
I am thrill with the way she has interpreted my designs but still been able to give them her own spin. It makes me want to take up needlepoint!
This Pineapple Fish scissor Fob is so fun with its polka dot tail. How did she know I love polka dots.
Many of these designs were originally pincushions and small wall hangings but Patty has designed them as pictures, small pillows and even a scissor fob.
Polka dots again!
The Rabbit is shown here as a canvas and also stitched.
I hope these inspire you all to keep stitching.
Keep warm
Sue

I'm an admirer of your work. I don't do hand work or work with wool(yet) but I just love your style. These are absolutely adorable...and I love anything polka dot.
ReplyDeleteWow-this is amazing work--can you imagine them stitched.....beautiful.........
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful.....
ReplyDeleteI love your wool work and I'm slowly working block by block on a Halloween themed quilt using techniques I learned from your class when you were in Lansing, MI. Now I see these needlepoint canvasses using your designs. Oh NO! I don't need to start another project but they are certainly tempting.
ReplyDeleteLove your work, and I've heard that your coming to Juneau to do a workshop?!
ReplyDeleteHope I am lucky enough to sign up in time -
These are all just wonderful! I hook rugs, and could easily see any of the designs hooked. They all have a nice folk arty whimsy feel to them that I enjoy.
