A couple of weeks ago I did a private workshop in my studio. We worked on the embellishment of leaves. Each student appliqued leaves onto a background prior to class. This gave them a good base to embellish.
We had fun creating with baby rickrack, beads, buttons and wonderful threads and fibers.
I can't wait to see the finished samplers.

What a great idea Sue, to have a tree of embellishment!! Gorgeous. I'm very disappointed that I won't be able to attend your workshop here in Australia, I'll be on a plane to the other side of the country that day, bad timing on my part I think......!!!

Yes. I saw, in your book, a shot of you working one large piece of cloth with a series of leaves on it, and realized that I was attracted to the idea of that exercise in design. The more you show me, the hungrier I am to try.
ReplyDeleteLovely work and so interesting..Love the fibrous tree too.
